Larry Citra developed an interest in Photography at an early age, starting with a twin lens reflex camera in 1961 at the age of fourteen. Although mainly self-taught, he has attended many workshops and seminars, and continues to do so, to better his knowledge of photography and improve his technique ... “If you keep an open mind and really want to learn, you can always learn something new, from everybody”
As well as giving photography workshops over the years, he has taught photography in the school system. Larry started shooting digital in 2000 and has made many upgrades as the technology improves. He is currently shooting with Nikon D3, D4, 800e, D850, Sony A7rii & A7riii mirrorless and printing on Epson printers, 2880, 3800, 9890, P800 & P9000. Larry does all his own printing and canvas stretching.
Larry and his wife Becky, a published and award winning children’s author, divide their time between their ranch in the southern interior of British Columbia and Salt Spring Island in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
Larry loves photography and freely shares his expertise with other photographers. Today, as well as being a member of the Salt Spring Photography Club (ssphoto.ca), he co-heads with the dedicated help of fellow photographer Derek Chambers, a small group photographers, the Bridge Lake Photo Group in Bridge Lake, B.C. (www.bridgelakephotogroup.com), that meet twice a month in an informal gathering where they exchange ideas and expand their photographic knowledge.
