Bridge Lake Photo Group
Bridge Lake is located on Highway 24, in the Interlakes region of the South Cariboo, in British Columbia, Canada.

The Bridge Lake Photo Group meets at 7:00 PM on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Our main goals are to learn more about the creative and technical aspects of the art of photography and to improve our image making techniques.

At our meetings we view and critique images provided by members, helping each other to better understand the creative process of photography and to improve our practice of the craft. The most experienced of our members give generously of their advice and encouragement. In addition we frequently view training videos focusing on a single technique and then discuss how we might make use of it in our future photographs.

Often we will agree upon a theme – perhaps seasonal photos or photos acquired using a particular technique – to give structure and impetus to our photography efforts during the following month. Upon completion of the allocated time period, members are invited to submit images. These are put together into a slide show whose review then becomes the focus of a meeting. We often post the results on this website.

At least once a year, we’ll organize a field trip to a particularly scenic area and then present the images at a following meeting. Once again, the experienced photographers give freely of their advice, which is particularly valuable when one is setting up in the field and selecting the view and perspective for our images.

Annually, usually in the early Spring, we mount a show of the best photographs made by members of our group, and invite the public to view. Always heavily attended, this event showcases the creative accomplishments of the BLPG to a greatly appreciative audience.

Salt Spring Island Photography Club
All About the SaltSpring Photography Club

The Salt Spring Photography Club is an informal network of people living on Salt Spring Island and sharing an interest in photography. It was founded in February, 2009. The Club is a welcoming group of photographers of all skill levels, willing to share their enthusiasm and knowledge and gain experience together. Feel free to come to a meeting to see if you would like to join us in this absorbing and creative obsession called Photography.

The Club web site is the club's basic tool for communication on a daily basis. Members use the website to present, view and comment on members' current photography. It is also a place for the exchange of valuable information.

Formal club meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. Currently at the Lion's Club, Hart Bradley Hall, 103 Bonnet Ave. At these meetings start with some small amount of club business and is followed by an educational talk on some aspect of photography and the meeting concludes with a slide show, consisting of images sent in by members, usually to do with that month's theme, with a critique and appreciation session after each photograph.

Casual coffee mornings happen on Mondays at 10 a.m. at Penny's-on-the-Green (Golf Course) restaurant. Club members get together and discuss any and every thing, photographic and non-photographic. This is a good time to get to know other members and to get advise or share technical know-how.
