Calypso Orchid (Lady Slipper) Calypso bulbosa
I made this shot with the Calypso Orchid, commonly called 'Lady Slippers' suspended over my light table using a custom white balance setting for the light produced by the light table. Exposed at 1/2 second @ f-22 and of course a tripod and cable release. Note: The Calypso Orchid is a protected species in British Columbia, but two of them had been cut off by a running deer's hoof and were lying on the trail, so I thought it would be OK to bring them home for a shot.
